In 2018, DiscoverDance partnered with Bear Paw Creek to create the DiscoverDance Movement Prop Collection. Incorporating movement props with the DiscoverDance conceptual explorations, enhances the early childhood learning experience. Big Fish/Little Fish
Exploring the Concept of SIZE
​

Create a circle with the stretchy band in the center of the room. When the music is soft, everyone dances in the LITTLE fish bowl with LITTLE movements inside the circle. When the music is loud, everyone dances in the BIG ocean with BIG movements all around the outside of the circle.

Exploring the Concept of BODY PARTS

​Follow the cues in the music as you balance your hat (scarf) on different body parts. Challenge- dance with the scarf balanced on the named body part until a new part is called.

Follow the cues as you balance the bean bag on your

Balloon Ball Activities

First Position Arms
Exploring the Concept of BODY SHAPES

Use balloon ball to toss through curvy first position arms. If arms are straight (aka Frankenstein arms) the ball will not go through.
Balance Ball
Exploring the Concept of WEIGHT

Place balloon ball in the center of the room. Dancers march with strong weight to the balloon ball. Dancers stop at the balloon ball and tap each foot on the ball with light weight. Continue marching with strong weight to the other side of the room.
